Unicorn of One
[ 00 — Unicorn of One ]

You run support, code and billing. Build the agent stack with us.

For solo founders with a product in market: supervised agents for the work that piles up, built with you, each with a check and a stop rule.

[ Chapter 01 ]

A failed deploy at 3 a.m. is yours alone.

So are the support queue, the billing error and the investor update. Every job in the company runs through one person.

[ Chapter 02 ]

Investors ask when you will hire.

Hire now and you add burn and slower decisions. Wait, and the queue keeps growing.

[ Chapter 03 ]

The team becomes a swarm.

Research, code, support and sales, run as supervised agents, each with a job, a check and a budget.

[ Chapter 04 ]

Answering to one.

Every agent reports to you, and nothing that cannot be undone happens without your yes.

[ Chapter 05 ]

One founder. A billion-dollar ambition.

Ambition is allowed. Proof is earned, one working system at a time.

[ Chapter 06 ]

Each agent: a job, a check, a stop rule.

Picture a night where the support agent answers what it knows, holds what it does not, and wakes you only for what matters.

[ 07 — How we work ]

You learn the stack while we build it.

Teach

How to direct, check and budget a swarm of agents, learned on your own company rather than a course.

Build

The agent systems, checks and infrastructure your company runs on, built with you so you can change them alone.

See an agent stack for a solo SaaS.

A fictional founder’s map: each agent’s job, its check, its monthly budget and the rule that stops it.

An agent stack map for a solo SaaS founder

Before
Everything runs through the founder’s inbox. Support replies wait until evening, billing errors surface when customers complain, and deploys happen only when Sam is awake.
After
Five supervised agents carry the routine, each with a written check, a budget cap and a stop rule. The founder sets data access, reviews exceptions and approves financial actions.
  1. List the jobs
  2. Assign or keep
  3. Set checks and budgets
  4. Write the stop rules

[ Chapter 09 ]

Be the answer the machines give.

Clear docs, structured data and honest claims make your product easier for people and AI assistants to find and trust.

[ Chapter 10 ]

The first one will need proof.

Claims of a one-person unicorn circulate. Until one checks out at the source, it stays a claim, and we treat it as one.

[ 11 — Ways to begin ]

Pick your leverage.

Consult

$400 per hour 5-hour block · $2,000 minimum

In blocks of 5 hours

A $2,000 block (five hours) can work toward a plan you can test: what agents can run now, what needs a check, and what still needs a person who signs. We agree the focus at the start; a block does not build the stack. We agree the scope before starting.

Ask about Consult → Details

On Build, we get projects up and running within a week, depending on complexity and how quickly you give us access to your systems.

[ 12 — Your next step ]

Start the climb.

Tell us what you are building and how far you mean to take it.

Send a short enquiry, then choose a time to talk or wait for our reply. We agree the scope and price before paid work begins. Sending this form does not book or buy a service.

[ Questions ]

Will agents replace my first hires?
Not as a promise. Agents can carry routine, checkable work under your supervision. Whether that postpones a hire depends on your work, and a Consult block can test it before you commit.
Is Build worth $45,000 for a solo founder?
Only if your repeatable workload and budget justify it against your real alternatives, such as a first hire or contractors. Many solo founders should start with a Consult block.
Do you help with fundraising?
No. We do not raise capital, introduce investors or promise valuations. We help you build and run the company.
What is Unicorn of One?
Unicorn of One (unicornofone.ai) works with solo founders aiming at venture-scale outcomes. We build their agent systems with them and teach them to run those systems alone. Utlyze owns and runs it.
What is a one-person unicorn?
A company with one founder and no traditional team that reaches a valuation of $1 billion or more. Agents and a few outside specialists do the work a staff once did.
Has a one-person company reached a $1 billion valuation?
Claims circulate. As of September 24, 2026, we have not confirmed one at a primary source. Until a claim checks out at its source, we treat it as a claim.
Who predicted the one-person billion-dollar company?
Sam Altman described a betting pool among tech CEOs on the first year it happens, as reported by Fortune on February 4, 2024. A prediction is not evidence, so we date every one we cite.
Does Y Combinator fund solo founders?
Yes. On September 17, 2026, Y Combinator said nearly one in five of its companies has a single founder. An independent review cited by Runtime Wire put the share at 19% of its Spring 2026 batch; in 2016, YC reported 8.5% for its Summer 2016 batch.
What does a solo founder still need people for?
Legal and financial accountability, specialist judgment you cannot check yourself, and relationships built on trust. We explain how founders usually handle these; we do not give legal, tax or investment advice.
What does Consult cost?
$400 an hour, booked five hours at a time, which makes the minimum booking $2,000. Pick Consult in the form below.
What is Build, and what does it cost?
Build is $15,000 a month. Each month, pick up to 5 business processes for our build-with-you coaches to work on. They build your AI systems with you and teach your team to run them. If you ever leave, the systems stay with you. The agents work only on your systems, and a shared rotation answers calls 24/7 with response times in writing. Build has a three-month minimum: $45,000 at the base level. Higher tiers and separately quoted work cost more.
Can you promise a billion-dollar outcome?
No. Nobody can, and we do not. We help you build and run the company; valuation, fundraising, legal and tax decisions stay with you and your own advisers.
How is this different from Business of One?
Unicorn of One is for founders chasing venture scale alone. Business of One is for owners building durable AI-first businesses of any size. Both are Utlyze companies.
What happens after I enquire, and what is the minimum commitment?
Send a short description of your work, then choose a time to talk or wait for our reply. The enquiry does not buy a service. We agree scope and price before paid work. Consult: 5-hour block · $2,000 minimum. Build: Three-month minimum · $45,000 minimum commitment. Build Plus is $25,000 a month ($75,000 minimum); Build Program is $50,000 a month ($150,000 minimum). New software products and core-system replacement are quoted separately.
